MASM, health insurance and services provider, and BP Malawi the weekend of 28th June 2008 hold two separate golf tournaments at the Mzuzu Golf Club (MGC) in Mzuzu and Lilongwe Golf club (LGC) respectively.
The MASM Health Challenge 2008 tourney will tee off at 10:00am playing Stableford format whilst the local oil provider giant's BP Golf Day event will play the Individual Medal format - 2 club optional.
Notable golfers at the two events will include development golfer Victor Kachepatsonga, veteran Dean Lungu and upcoming star H. Van de Merwe at LGC and Dingiswayo Madise, Davie Lameck and the Trindade brothers at the MGC.
Meanwhile UGI Company will showcase its take at the Kasasa Golf Course (KGC) at Dwangwa in Nkhota-kota on 5th July 2008, a day just prior Malawi's Independence Day.

Mtema and Chanje lead World Vision fund raiser
Peter Mtema from Blantyre and lady course partner, Chanje, took the day last Saturday 21 June in the World Vision charity golf tournament at the 18-hole Lilongwe Golf Club.
Chanje said it was exciting to win and that her and partner both made two pars on two holes and on another they both made pars.
LGC golf captain Justin Mkandawire said it was possible to eliminate illiteracy and poverty amongst the less fortunate as along as the public put its resources together. World Vision board member Evelyn Itimu was all smiles at the prospects of what the raised MK1 million would do.
"World Vision can firmly testify that your help will fill big service gaps in the rural community and will ensure this assistance is put to imtemded use," she told the 76 golfers plus spectators at a prize giving presentation. The money would assist Community Based Orphaned Child Care Centres within Nkhoma area in Lilongwe. Areas targeted are food security and education in orphaned child care centres.
Over MK763,000 was raised from participating teams from banners and green fees while the rest came in through auctions.
The golfers bid for air tickets, complimentary hotel accommodation and golf balls.
Runners up were J.J. Kadzenje and Gabriel Kambalame whilst on third position were Clement Chilingulo and T. Mahendra. Tourney sponsors included freight forwarding company DHL, Air Zimbabwe and Crossroads Hotel.

AG set for July rendition
AG magazine is set and ready to appear for the second time on the bookshelves this July 2008. The magazine, which has a number of graphical and news improvements from last edition, will be sold at golf clubs, main shops, golf tournaments, in hotels, on luxury coaches, and is bound for the airlines.
"We want to make sure everyone is able to purchase our copies wherever they may be. Some of our magazines will also be sold in neighbouring Zambia in Chipata," explains managing editor M'theto Lungu.
In 52 full colour pages, the magazine is about to close advertisements for this edition as it prepares to print in order to meet its quarterly deadline for April - June sales period.
The next edition will cover the July - September period.

Join our golf world
You need not to go further to learn more about Malawi's only and first ever all-golf magazine. We are AnzeniGOLFER and published quarterly.
